Invading Australia

Seizing Australian coastal cities in a few hours

Most of Australia’s existing armed forces could be destroyed in a few minutes.

Hostile forces could then be deployed from ‘Trojan Cargo Ships’ to take over all the major coastal cities.

MinuteAction
1Nuclear blasts – Canberra and ADF bases in remote areas. A likely focus on bases with significant concentrations of military assets (Amberley, Tindal, Edinburgh, etc.)

Conventional weapons could be used on naval bases near useful assets.
2All warships at anchor sunk using submarine launched missiles
3Our few warships at sea sunk by other submarines, long-range missiles, etc.
4Hostile forces begin deploying from “trojan cargo ships” at docks in all eight coastal Australian cities.

Complications

Australia’s old Collins Class submarine(s) would be a complication for the invader as they probably don’t know where they are.

Several incoming vessels could be sunk by the Collins Class before they our submarines could be eliminated. (As the Collins Class use old lead-acid batteries that have to be charged daily they are far more vulnerable than modern submarines.)
