We will make life more affordable for ordinary Australians:
- More affordable housing
- Less tax for ordinary workers
- Cheaper energy
- Cheaper transport
- Add dental care to Medicare
- Facilitate farmers markets and food trucks to counter the monopoly of the big supermarket chains (with cooperation of State and Local governments)
- Flexiweek – a more productive society
- Possible Government Insurance scheme to cover complete loss of buildings.
- No flat utility service charges. All billing for utilities (electricity, water, gas, broadband, etc. would have to be based on actual usage. This rewards the small frugal consumer and encourages conservation of energy and water.
- Flat rates per unit of energy and water. No discount for big users.
- No Surveillance Pricing.
- Mandate five to ten year warranty periods for most goods. This means goods might be slightly more expensive to buy but should last a lot longer. It could be that after one year the manufacturers would just need to supply parts and instructions that would allow a ‘reasonable person’ to repair the product. They could also supply parts they expect to fail with the product.
